The 24-year-old reunites with his former teammates under the Turkish organization.

Eternal Fire have announced that they are welcoming back Buğra “Calyx” Arkın to the team. The move is the latest in a series of changes for the Turkish lineup after their dismal performance at the RMR where they finished in 12-14th place and were unable to capture a spot at the IEM Rio Major.

woxic benches himself from EF: “I want to continue my career in an international team”

Calyx‘s return comes just days after Özgür “woxic” Eker benched himself from the active roster, with the Turkish AWPer citing a desire to play for an international team as the reason for his decision.

Calyx is back on Eternal Fire after a short stint with Benched Heroes

Calyx was one of the founding members of Eternal Fire when the player-created organization established by Ismailcan “XANTARES” Dörtkardeş and woxic first went live in August 2021. The team found success in Turkish competitions such as ESA Supremes Vestel Cup 2021 and ESL Turkey Summer Championship 2021 and even peaked at 20th place overall on the world ranking. Despite their strong results at local tournaments, they often struggled when it came to international events most notably at the PGL Major Antwerp where they exited the Challengers Stage in 12-14th place.

In January 2022, Calyx was placed on the bench due to personal reasons and in July officially departed the team. He joined Benched Heroes in August for the IEM Road to Rio Open Qualifiers, and though the five-stack reached the RMR through the final open qualifier they had to forfeit their slot due to Eugene “Aunkere” Karyat and Calyx‘s visa issues.
