  • Fantom CEO Michael Kong disputes “misinformation” surrounding the departure of two of the company’s developers.
  • Anton Nell tweeted that he and Andre Cronje are “terminating” themselves from the projects they are handling under Fantom.
  • The projects are being turned over to existing teams and will continue operating.

Fantom CEO Michael Kong cleared the air following Anton Nell’s announcement of his and fellow developer Andre Cronje’s departure from the company.

Through a series of tweets, Kong looked to correct the “misinformation going around” Nell’s announcement of leaving Fantom with Cronje. In this tweet, Nell said, “there are around 25 apps and services that [they] are terminating.”

“This was misunderstood,” Kong said. He clarified that Nell and Cronje are “terminating their involvement” but assured his followers that the projects handled by the departing devs were being turned over to existing teams.

Kong added that most of the projects handled by Nell and Cronje, such as Yearn Finance and Multichain (previously Anyswap), will be business-as-usual, noting that the existing teams have been involved with the respective projects “for years.”

He further commented that some of these projects he personally oversees, “keeping close contacts with many of [the] developers.”

On one hand, Solidex, an Internetworking solutions platform built on Fantom, will now be handling Solidly. Kong stressed that the projects will not be “closing down development,” mentioning that some of the projects “have been running independently for years.”

Kong guaranteed that nothing will change operationally for Fantom. In fact, “all the core and middleware developers are working hard on the next updates,” pertaining to Snapsync, LevelDb, and flat storage.

Kong said that they are continuously growing their teams of developers and researchers and that all operations will continue.

Meanwhile, a user with the handle Hadieuly replied to Fantom’s thread regarding Cronje’s departure. They tweeted, “this is a communication lesson. The time has come for us to address and come up with a solution to this problem.” They suggested that Fantom should work with “big media agencies” so it could pay more attention to miscommunication issues.
