FaZe take down Heroic to secure second win at BLAST Fall Groups

FaZe advanced in their BLAST Fall Groups 2022 campaign with a 16-10 win over Heroic in the upper bracket final of Group C. The international squad is currently in pole position to claim the top seed in their bracket after victories over Evil Geniuses and Casper “⁠cadiaN⁠” Møller‘s men.

“For sure we will,” was Helvijs “⁠broky⁠” Saukants‘s answer when asked if FaZe will top the group. The Latvian AWPer had a fantastic opening game against Evil Geniuses, but it was Robin “⁠ropz⁠” Kool and Russel “⁠Twistzz⁠” Van Dulken‘s turn to shine against Heroic on Nuke with 1.21 ratings.

The Danes were relegated to the Consolidation Final where they will face the winner of Evil Geniuses vs BIG later on Sunday. Martin “⁠stavn⁠” Lund had a very poor performance by his standards, displaying a 0.66 rating overall as Heroic struggled to compete against the No.1 team in the world.

FaZe opened up Nuke with a short winning streak after their victory in the pistol round to secure a 4-0 early advantage. Heroic had a couple of promising pushes into B, but the duo of Twistzz and ropz continued to make the Danes’ lives difficult in the lower site.

stavn struggled to find his usual level of impact on the offensive half, but fortunately for Heroic Jakob “⁠jabbi⁠” Nygaard was there to pick up the pieces. FaZe were seemingly about to run away with the half before a successful Tec-9 rush into the A site from the Danes salvaged a 6-9 scoreline.

karrigan‘s men extended their advantage to 13-6 after moving to the offense as Heroic struggled to get their defense into shape. A short streak late in the match almost put the Danes back in contention before an incredible 1v3 clutch from ropz on the B site crushed their opponents’ momentum. FaZe closed the map with a 16-10 scoreline after a push on A and another clutch, this time by Twistzz.
