AECT FOUNDATION: SHARE THE LOVE MARKETING CAMPAIGN
During the 2022 AECT convention in Las Vegas, seven AECT members—mostly graduate students—received a check from the AECT Foundation for amounts ranging from $400 to $1,000 each in order to serve as an intern. Without such internships, most of these new scholarly recipients could not have attended the convention to begin their long-term membership in our Association while being mentored by senior professionals in their fields.
On February 13 and 14, the AECT Foundation Board hopes that AECT members will consider donating to these tax-deductible charitable efforts by going to the AECT website and clicking on “AECT Foundation” or by going to: https://aect-foundation.square.site/. Your support will enable AECT and its Foundation to continue their collaborative work in recognizing member achievements and providing internships for new members just entering the field of Educational Technology.
The AECT Foundation is a 501(C)(3) organization.
2023 AECT SUMMER RESERACH SYMPOSIUM: NOW ACCEPTING PROPOSALS

45TH ANNUAL CONVENTION PROCEEDINGS ARE NOW AVAILABLE ONLINE
For the forty fifth time, the Association for Educational Communications and Technology (AECT) is sponsoring the publication of these Proceedings. Papers published in this volume were presented online and onsite during the 2022 AECT Convention held in Las Vegas.
SUBMIT YOUR PROPOSAL: SPECIAL ISSUE OF TECHTRENDS
The AECT divisions of Emerging Learning Technologies and System Thinking and Change invite proposals for a special issue of TechTrends focusing on meaningful and critical conversations about emerging technologies through the lens of systems thinking. This issue intends to merge passionate and doubtful voices about new and emerging learning technologies and their implications for the design, development, and research involving such technologies.
We invite critical views with constructive feedback that can add to meaningful conversations around emerging technologies and system thinking, and we anticipate the sharing of best practices, reflections, or critiques of emerging technologies that will influence planning and decision-making within different levels of education and training contexts. Successful proposals and articles should make a clear connection between the emerging learning technologies discussed and systems thinking.
Submit your proposal at: https://tinyurl.com/TT-STCDELT

TIPS AND RESOURCES – MAKING ZOOM MEETINGS ACCESSIBLE FOR ALL PARTICIPANTS
Below is a list of tips and resources to help make Zoom meetings as accessible as possible for all participants, including participants with disabilities. Most functions in Zoom are user-friendly and accessible to people who use assistive technology. There are, however, a few exceptions and best practices.
- Ensure everyone can participate. The polling feature is accessible to people who use assistive technology. Be sure to notify participants verbally when you are launching a poll, provide enough time for participation, and inform participants when the poll will close.
- Avoid side conversations in chat and share links from chat via email or another channel.
- When sharing a screen, verbalize what is on a screen and share materials ahead of the meeting.
- Reduce background noise by muting participants that are not speaking.
- Enable automatic captioning by following this tutorial. (Remember that the accuracy of automatic captions will vary and should not replace human-generated captions or interpreters when requested.)
- Read more about Zoom’s accessibility features.
