FinTech Alliance, Gorriceta Law Partner for INDX 3.0 Summit | BitPinas

For the 2023 run of the flagship event of the FinTech Alliance PH, Inclusion and Digital Transformation (INDX) Summit, the Gorriceta Africa Cauton & Saavedra’s (Gorriceta) Law x Tech Summit will be joining as a co-presenter.

INDX Summit and x Tech Summit Collaboration

On June 8, 2023, the collaboration was finalized through a signing event attended by Lito Villanueva, Founding Chairman of Fintech Alliance and Executive Vice President and Chief Innovation and Inclusion Officer of RCBC, Martha Borja, Country Head of Grab PH Financial Group, Atty. Mark S. Gorriceta, Managing Partner of Gorriceta. 

FinTech Alliance Trustees Magellan Fetalino, Alternative Finance Head of UBX and Edison Tsai, Executive Director of SeedIn, and Atty. Kristine T. Torres, Junior Partner of Gorriceta, was also present.

“This extraordinary convergence of expertise and insights promises to unleash a monumental influence, heralding an era of groundbreaking impact on the FinTech industry,”  Mark Gorriceta, Managing Partner at Gorriceta Law, said in a statement. 

Fintech Alliance PH is the largest fintech and digital association in the Philippines with nearly 100 corporate members. The organization has implemented Asia’s first industry-led code of conduct and code of ethics. Recently, it launched a nationwide consumer cybersecurity awareness and education campaign during their 2023 General Membership Meeting, participants of this event includes the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Governor Felipe Medalla, government agencies, and industry players. In 2022, the alliance expressed its support for Senate Bill 184 or the Digital Assets Act and Senate Resolution 126.

Gorriceta Law, on the other hand, is a prominent law firm in the Philippines specializing in Technology and Innovation. It takes a pioneering stance in the FinTech sector. In a statement, it expressed strong commitment to fostering a thriving digital economy by bridging the gap between law and technological advancement. Last Philippine Web3 Festival, Mark Gorriceta participated as a moderator in a panel discussion featuring the leading digital asset companies in the country. 

INDX 3.0 2023

The INDX 3.0 2023 will be on August 7 to 8, 2023, at Shang-ri la the Fort, Manila. This year’s event is expected to combine the elements of the two summits. The INDX Summit will bring together innovative leaders in the Philippines to showcase the rapid growth of the FinTech industry globally; while the Gorriceta’s Law x Tech Summit will address the evolving legal and regulatory challenges driven by technological advancements. 

Aside from the two, the INDX 3.0’s partners include the Singapore FinTech Association, Invest HK, Mastercard, and the South Africa-based Alliance of Digital Finance Associations, among others.
