Here are the new Destiny 2 Exotics added in Season of the Splicer

Bungie just launched Destiny 2: Season of the Splicer on Tuesday, which means the game just got infused with a host of new Exotic weapons and armor.

Season of the Splicer already has one new Exotic weapon available for players and three new Exotic armor pieces. But it looks like Bungie may have some surprises in store as well. Here are all the Exotics we know are coming in Season of the Splicer.

[Note: There are some light gear spoilers in this post, as we look into some evidence both in and outside of Destiny 2 that suggest other, unconfirmed Exotics are coming this season.]

Cryosthesia 77K – Stasis sidearm

Cryosthesia 77K is the new season pass weapon from Season of the Splicer. Players who own the season pass can pick it up immediately, while free players will need to reach level 35 to unlock it.

Cryosthesia 77K has two Exotic perks. The first is LN2 Burst, which offers a variable trigger for the weapon. Players can tap the trigger to fire shots like a normal sidearm. But Guardians can also hold the trigger to fire a charged Stasis shot at enemies, freezing them immediately. The Charged Shot is only available when the second Exotic perk, Liquid Cooling, is active.

Liquid Cooling activates once players get a killing blow with the weapon’s default fire mode. Liquid Cooling enables players to fire the charged Stasis shot, which expends the rest of the weapon’s magazine.

This is the player’s first Stasis energy weapon — when Bungie added Stasis in Beyond Light, the heavy Salvation’s Grip grenade launcher is the only Stasis weapon players got. While being a Stasis weapon is interesting enough in its own rite, the Cryosthesia 77K also goes in the Kinetic slot, usually reserved for weapons without elemental affinities.

Star-Eater Scales – Hunter legs

The Star-Eater Scales come from either Master or Legend Lost Sectors, similar to Season of the Chosen. Each day there’s a featured Master or Legend Lost Sector, which offers a different armor slot Exotic as a reward if you complete it solo. Wait for leg day and complete the Lost Sector until it drops.

The Star-Eater Scales have the Feast of Light Exotic perk. This perk causes Hunters to gain bonus Super energy when picking up Orbs of Power. Picking up Orbs of Power with a full Super will overcharge the Hunter, healing them when they cast their super and increasing their Super damage. At maximum overcharge, Hunters will also get an overshield.

The Path of the Burning Steps – Titan legs

The Path of the Burning Steps come from either Master or Legend Lost Sectors, similar to Season of the Chosen. Each day there’s a featured Master or Legend Lost Sector, which offers a different armor slot Exotic as a reward if you complete it solo. Wait for leg day and complete the Lost Sector until it drops.

The Path of the Burning Steps come with the Firewalker perk. Firewalker causes Solar kills to increase weapon damage incrementally. The Titan is also harder to slow or freeze with Stasis, and they don’t take damage when they break out of a frozen state. Breaking out of Stasis also causes a Solar explosion around the Titan.

Boots of the Assembler – Warlock legs

The Boots of the Assembler come from either Master or Legend Lost Sectors, similar to Season of the Chosen. Each day there’s a featured Master or Legend Lost Sector, which offers a different armor slot Exotic as a reward if you complete it solo. Wait for leg day and complete the Lost Sector until it drops.

The Boots of the Assembler come with the Blessing of Order perk. This perk gives Warlocks a bonus while standing in a Healing Rift. While Blessing of Order is active, the Warlock will spawn Noble Seekers that will chase after allies not in your Rift, healing them. Each ally healed by a Noble Seeker will also grant the Warlock and the ally a damage buff. Every time a Noble Seeker affects an ally, it also increases the duration on the Warlock’s Healing Rift.

Unconfirmed Exotic weapons

There look to be two unconfirmed Exotics in Destiny 2: Season of the Splicer.

The first is an easy guess if you’re a Destiny veteran. Vex Mythoclast, the Exotic fusion rifle that drops from Atheon at the end of Vault of Glass, is back. Players can go into their in-game Collection and find an ornament called The Untold Tale for the Vex Mythoclast, confirming its existence.

Because it’s also in Destiny 2’s API, we can see its updated perks as well. According to the Light.gg Destiny database, Vex Mythoclast has two Exotic perks in Destiny 2. The first is Timeless Mythoclast, which causes the weapon to fire a single fusion rifle bolt on each trigger pull. This suggests the weapon isn’t fully automatic, like its original Destiny version. But the perk of the same name in Destiny 1 used the same language, so Destiny 2’s Mythoclast will likely function very similarly to its original version.

Vex Mythoclast’s second Exotic perk in Destiny 2 is Temporal Unlimiter. Defeating targets with Vex Mythoclast builds up Overcharge. Players can swap firing modes once fully Overcharged — likely by holding the reload button — and hold the trigger to charge linear fusion rifle shots. Linear fusion rifles are usually only reserved for the heavy ammo slot and kill enemies with a single headshot.

The new Vex Mythoclast also has a Catalyst, which adds the Calculated Balance perk. This causes higher stacks of Overcharge to increase Vex Mythoclast’s stability.

There’s also a mysterious Exotic scout rifle ornament in Destiny 2’s Collection. It’s classified, which is pretty unusual for an ornament. For instance, the Vex Mythoclast ornament isn’t classified, even though the weapon isn’t in the Collection yet. Chances are it’s a hidden ornament for a secret Exotic. But with it just being a placeholder Classified node, it also means that we have no idea what this weapon could be.

While it’s possible Bungie could add another Exotic this season — increasing the Exotic weapon count to four from the likely three — there is only evidence for the ones mentioned here. Bungie will update its database over the season, so we should learn more about these unconfirmed Exotics in a few weeks.
