Here’s Why Alan Wake 2 Isn’t Available on Steam

Remedy dives into the survival horror genre with the upcoming Alan Wake 2.

The game will be available for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC starting today.

Players can buy the PC version through the Epic Games Store only. Many are unhappy about excluding Steam from Alan Wake 2’s launch.

According to a recent article from Gamespot, Epic Games paid for Alan Wake 2’s development and is the title’s publisher. Because of this, it’s likely that Remedy, the game developer, agreed to launch it exclusively on the Epic Games Store. 

Remedy’s move with Alan Wake 2 shouldn’t be surprising. The same thing happened with Alan Wake Remastered. The developer also launched Control on the Epic Game Store only, which eventually arrived on Steam a year later.

Alan Wake 2 may come to Steam, but there’s no telling when. The previous article by Game Spot shared some promising news. Epic Games Store GM Steve Allison stated Alan Wake 2 will be exclusively available via the Epic Games Store for a while. No dates have been confirmed for a Steam copy of Alan Wake 2.
