“This partnership with oak9 helps our customers easily incorporate HITRUST controls early in the development lifecycle and use automation to ensure that the design meets the organization’s security and compliance objectives.”

oak9, developer-first IaC security leader, has formed a first-of-its-kind strategic partnership with the HITRUST Alliance to make cloud native compliance easier for healthcare and HealthTech organizations.

oak9 is a longtime supporter and advocate for HITRUST, a comprehensive security and compliance framework that primarily focuses on the healthcare industry. As the original IaC security solution offering a compliance framework for HITRUST, oak9’s dynamic Security as Code blueprints natively support HITRUST requirements.

oak9 continues to build and integrate support for HITRUST to make it easier to adopt and scale across large cloud environments, ultimately reducing the overall time and cost of becoming HITRUST compliant.

“oak9 continues to push the boundaries of how an organization can move with velocity,” said Aakash Shah, oak9 co-founder and CTO. “Organizations often view compliance and time-to-market as a tradeoff. oak9 makes it easy for developers to incorporate comprehensive compliance frameworks like HITRUST, while also giving resource-constrained security teams the ability to scale across cloud applications. This level of automation shifts customers to continuous compliance instead of long point-in-time assessments.”

Developers often fear compliance assessments because they take away time from their application development priorities. This strategic partnership with HITRUST upholds oak9’s mission to make cloud infrastructure security easy for developers. oak9 is reimagining the entire compliance experience, giving healthcare customers a streamlined and faster pathway. oak9 and HITRUST’s partnership especially helps smaller organizations with limited resources and security teams supporting the rigorous process of meeting HITRUST compliance.

“HITRUST understands that modern development practices require a new approach to compliance,” said Jeremy Huval, Chief Innovation Officer at HITRUST. “This partnership with oak9 helps our customers easily incorporate HITRUST controls early in the development lifecycle and use automation to ensure that the design meets the organization’s security and compliance objectives. oak9 can help organizations significantly reduce the effort it takes for them to achieve HITRUST compliance – and remain continuously compliant.”

The HITRUST partnership announcement comes shortly after oak9 became a formal member of OWASP, the Open Web Application Security Project – a nonprofit standards organization and community that produces articles, methodologies, documentation, tools, and technologies in the field of web application security. oak9 is also the only IaC security vendor focused on secure cloud architecture design and secure cloud native infrastructure vs. misconfigurations only. oak9 continues to help customers tackle the “insecure design” issues that OWASP identifies in their top 10 application security risks.
