Krafton Signs MoU with Gujarat Government for Esports Development

In a move aimed at boosting innovation and digital entertainment in Gujarat, the state government has recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Krafton, a renowned company recognized for developing indigenous games that offer unique and enjoyable experiences. The announcement was made by Harsh Sanghavi, Minister of State for Home, Industries, Transport, Youth & Sports, through X (formerly known as Twitter).

The collaboration between the Gujarat government and Krafton is an effort to propel the state’s progression as a hub for innovation, digital entertainment, and esports. With the increasing prominence of the gaming industry worldwide, this partnership holds immense potential to leverage Gujarat’s resources and talent pool towards fostering growth in these sectors.

Under the MOU, Gujarat and Krafton pledge to drive innovation across various sectors, harnessing Krafton’s expertise in game development. This collaboration aims to position Gujarat as a leader in technological advancement while also elevating the state’s stature as a hub for digital entertainment. 

Furthermore, the MOU also aims to foster the booming esports industry in Gujarat. By joining forces with Krafton, Gujarat intends to cultivate a vibrant esports culture in the state, offering opportunities for gamers to showcase their skills on a competitive platform. This positions Gujarat as a proactive player in nurturing esports talent and fostering community engagement through gaming. Notably, prior to this MOU, Surat, Gujarat hosted Krafton’s Battlegrounds Mobile India Pro Series (BMPS) 2024 in December 2024, which attracted a massive audience. 

The collaboration between the Gujarat government and Krafton signifies a strategic alliance aimed at propelling the state towards a future driven by innovation, digital entertainment, and esports.
