C9 vs. TL

Coming into this series without watching the previous series you might ask why it is worth writing anything other than “C9 Win”? Well, their last series was an abject disaster against FlyQuest and emphasized everything that had gone with C9 this Split. Luckily, they have a chance against a surging but lesser team in Team Liquid.

On the Team Liquid side of things you can say they are catching Cloud9 at the worst time or best time. It really depends on how Cloud9 responds. Sadly, even at their best Team Liquid cannot beat Cloud9 when they are playing well. Team Liquid have played the best team League of Legends so far in playoffs and are truly best at their best. If Cloud9 slip up then Team Liquid could surprise everyone and get to finals for a rematch with FlyQuest.

The reason they won’t is that coming off their last series, Cloud9 should be playing mad. They have the better players in literally every lane and should be able to dominate in mid specifically. APA played very well against 100 Thieves but Jojopyun is a different beast entirely and counting on him to go an entire series without getting a kill two times in a row is just a bad bet. Cloud9 will likely still not be at their best as they haven’t been most of the season but they will do enough to eek past Team Liquid and to MSI.

Prediction: C9 Win 3-2

FLY vs. C9

The series that everyone has been hoping for since about midway through the split. We thought we would get an epic matchup last time, apparently, we have not learned our lesson. FlyQuest threw Cloud9 into the dirt and laughed at them. This time, hopefully, things will be different. We will get the series that was promised.

It should be a slugfest with each team giving their best and learning from their last series. FlyQuest should come in with confidence but have two strategies. The one being what they used to win the last series between the two teams. The second should be ready in case Cloud9 remembers how to play League of Legends. FLY should use the first one until they lose and then be ready to change things up.

As for Cloud9 they have to figure out how to play as a team. Just playing to win through lane and having Blaber push advantages only works if one lane has a lead. Against FlyQuest this will be hard to do. Instead, it is time they come together and play as a team and win around objectives. If they can do this, they will be much more formidable.

This series should be close. Again the operative word there is, should. Both teams could also 3-0 the other depending on the day. This one is very close to call but by predicting C9 to win against Team Liquid, it is hard not to hope they carry that momentum into the next day and another Championship against FlyQuest where they are sadly becoming the Buffalo Bills of the LCS.

Unless Jojo gets no kills again. Then Cloud9 are back in the dirt.

Prediction: C9 Win 3-2
