In honor of the 10th anniversary of League of Legends in China, the Chinese League of Legends Pro League (LPL) has introduced the new Silver Dragon Cup, a trophy designed by Tiffany & Co. In an effort to inject a brand-new design, the Tiffany & Co. logo will be engraved on the trophy for this season.
The trophy’s design includes five dragons that soar through a cloud, facing inward as if they are protecting the symbolic team logo at its base. The Chinese characters that read “Dragons” form a floral centerpiece, appearing as a stronger symbol of power and dignity for LPL teams after every win in the upcoming Summer Final.
The trophy is decorated with the LPL logo on the front. Along with the debut of this Summer Final trophy, the LPL will also unveil an independent silver dragon mascot for the league’s 2019 Summer Split. The official name for this new mascot, along with its background and characteristics, will be announced at a later date.
The LPL has celebrated Chinese New Year in 2018 by revealing the Gold Dragon Cup; however, it was ultimately used to celebrate Royal Never Give Up’s (RNG) victory at Worlds 2018 in South Korea instead of the Spring Split. In order to add a new sense of vitality and celebration to the Chinese New Year, the LPL has decided to change the design from gold to silver in 2019.
In addition to the Silver Dragon Cup, the LPL has introduced a set of circular hologram stickers that will also be engraved with a Tiffany & Co. logo. These stickers will be given away for free at Summer Split matches in Beijing and Shanghai, and fans will have a chance to win additional hologram stickers through live stream giveaways during matches this summer.
