IEM Katowice 2024 left Week #214 of the Open Cups depleted in terms of top-end competition, resulting in a three-server sweep by Protoss players who sat out the tournament in Poland.
First, 
NightMare came out on top on the Korean server, going through Coffee, Classic, and Creator to win his second ever Open Cup (his previous win having come during the weekend of ESL Masters Summer).
Next, MaxPax won the European server cup, beating Lambo 3-1 in a rematch of the previous week’s final. The Danish Protoss followed up by completing his third consecutive EU-NA double in a row, beating Classic in the finals of the Americas competition.
