MLB The Show 21 Diamond Dynasty is filled with different challenges, but the Conquest game mode is riddled with hidden rewards every player needs to claim.
These tips and guide will help you know how to play Conquest in MLB The Show 21, but the maps will also show you where to find all of the hidden rewards for Diamond Dynasty.
How does Conquest work in MLB The Show 21?
Few sports games have anything like Conquest in MLB The Show 21, and the unique mode has been compared to aspects of classic board games like Risk or Settlers of Catan.
While a bit daunting at first glance, Conquest is much more approachable than it appears, and this game mode in Diamond Dynasty can be hugely beneficial to play.
In general, you are trying to move fans across the map to claim territory until you seize as many tiles as possible and defeat opposing team strongholds.
Attack Phase will allow you to move your fans and take more tiles, including the option to simulate or play a game when trying to take an occupied tile.
The Steal Fans Phase lets you play a game to steal extra fans from other teams on the map, and playing those games on higher difficulties will net more fans.
Reinforce Phase allows you to add to your already owned territory and Move Phase lets you transfer fans between territories.
If you’re struggling in any of the full games within Conquest, our baserunning survival guide can help you improve that aspect of your play.
Conquest Guide & Tips for Diamond Dynasty
The first thing to keep in mind for Conquest is that you can always restart if a map isn’t going the way you intend.
While your overall progress will reset, you’ll keep any hidden rewards or completed goals that you’ve already done and start navigating the map with a fresh start.
If games against strongholds are too difficult, wait until you’re able to attack with a larger amount of fans, as the difference in total fans will eventually let you play on Rookie.
On larger maps with multiple strongholds, you want to build a barrier of tiles with multiple fans, usually between five and fifteen per tile if possible, around both your own stronghold and any enemy stronghold you’ve surrounded but haven’t yet taken.
This allows you to keep things more under control if you need to spend a few turns reinforcing your totals and building up for a potential stronghold match.
When taking non-stronghold tiles, you almost always want to simulate the game, but you can play if you want to be absolutely sure to take that territory.
If you don’t feel like worrying about overall domination of a map, follow the below guides to locate hidden rewards.
You can frequently reinforce and work your way towards a few rewards, and then simply restart the map and turn your attention towards a new location where another hidden reward is located.
