Neuraspace starts free space traffic management service

WASHINGTON — Portuguese startup Neuraspace has released a free version of its space traffic management platform to foster more collaboration among satellite operators.

Drawing from a pool of information gathered from public sources and partnerships with ground telescope providers, Neuraspace announced March 19 that the software platform is now available at no cost to operators seeking real-time satellite position data to manage their operations better.

Operators signed up for the service would get a common view of conjunction alerts, which would also automatically open up a chat room between them to discuss how best to avoid the collision risk.

For a price Neuraspace did not disclose, operators could upgrade to a premium version that also includes collision avoidance maneuver suggestions and more powerful conjunction analysis tools.

Chiara Manfletti, CEO of Neuraspace, said both service tiers will help promote transparency and collective efforts in increasingly crowded orbits, while streamlining workflows and minimizing disruption risks for operators. 

The four-year-old venture recently said the platform is being used by operators responsible for more than 250 satellites in orbit, including one operated by Earth observation provider Dragonfly Aerospace, since making the service available in 2022.

Neuraspace is also seeking customers in the satellite manufacturing and insurance markets.
