New Green Tech Crowdfunding Campaigns

We are all trying to find ways to reduce our carbon footprints in our daily lives, which means we’re all choosing products that are gentler on the environment. New green businesses are coming to Indiegogo with their latest innovations, and we’d like to share some of our favorites.

These products are all in different stages of their lifecycles, so as you browse, remember that crowdfunding is not shopping. You’ll have to be patient about receiving your perks, as it can sometimes take months to receive a perk from a campaign you’ve backed. Rome wasn’t built in a day, and the same can be said about these innovative green tech products from budding entrepreneurs.

When you’re trapped inside during a big storm, especially since work-from-home life persists, losing power is inconvenient at best. As we’ve seen this year, electricity can take some time to come back and the three measly candles that have been collecting dust in your junk drawer are probably not going to cut it. Enter the the Generark HomePower 2, a solar-powered generator that offers up to seven days of emergency electricity on a single charge. It can power 99% of household devices, and has all-weather solar panels so you can leave it outside in any conditions if you need a recharge. It comes in two different sizes, and both sizes take up minimal space. Even tiny home dwellers can easily store a Generark HomePower 2.

No matter what kind of adventures you’re into, you need a way to keep your essential devices charged. Frost Summits is a portable, solar-powered charger that works even in the most extreme outdoor conditions. It charges your phone in three hours, your GoPro in 90 minutes, and your smartwatch in an hour so you’ll always be able to capture the sick views you see. Frost Summits even does a little extra. It tracks your performance, recommends travel plans, and enables friends and family to track you as you roam. I would tell you to stay safe out there, but Frost Summit will take care of you.

Whether you’ve going to a picnic, a winter car camping trip, or a homecoming tailgate, you need a good cooler. And in the 21st century, you need to stop buying bags of ice. The GoSun Chillest combines freezer and refrigerator in one device that keeps your tastiest snacks and beverages cold for 10 hours. You can charge it with an external power bank, an AC or DC outlet, or a solar elbow table. They are not lying, it is literally and figuratively the most chill cooler around.

Even if you are lucky enough to live in a city that does compost collection, recycling your food scraps remains a smelly but important goal. To my knowledge, no one has found a way of keeping compost on your counter that isn’t just a little bit gross. Instead of inviting a family of fruit flies into your home and hauling your compost to the farmer’s market every weekend, use Lomi. It turns food waste into usable compost and neutralizes odors, and looks stylish while doing it. It can reduce carbon emissions by up to 50%, and this offset has the same annual environmental benefit as planting 2690 trees.

Now that flexible work-life seems to have become permanent, home is becoming a flexible concept too, and we need flexible devices to come with us. ElecHive is a portable, universal power station that provides the same amount of power as a wall outlet and still weighs only 34 pounds. It can also withstand temperatures as low as -4 and as high as 104, and can power up to 12 devices at once. What’s more (I know, how could there possibly be more?), it can be charged with solar panels, which eliminates greenhouse gas emissions once installed.
