Both ReedPop and Penny Arcade made a statement today that PAX East 2021 has been cancelled, and PAX Online 2021 will occur from July 15 to July 18.
According to ReedPop’s PAX Event Director Kyle Marsden-Kish, the change was made due to ongoing public health concerns. No tickets or space to exhibitors was sold up to this point, and their utmost concern is the safety of the PAX family. Both groups will only move forward with a live PAX once they are determined that things will be safe for all.
However, both ReedPop and Penny Arcade are cautiously optimistic that both PAX West and PAX Unplugged will proceed as planned. Those two events are scheduled for September 3-6 and December 10-12, respectively.
