Podcast | Four Key Trends for E-Commerce in 2021

Source Node: 871466

The latest edition of the E-Tailers’ Almanac offers a glimpse of what 2021 holds in store for online merchants.

For more than 200 years, the Farmer’s Almanac has clued growers into weather and other factors that promise to affect their crops in the coming year. The much younger E-Tailers’ Almanac aims to fill something of a similar role for the e-commerce sector. It’s the work of DHL eCommerce Solutions, which recently issued a second edition. The 2021 version identifies four major market trends that are likely to impact the parcel delivery market and, by association, the fortunes of e-tailers and their customers. On this episode, we get a look at those key trends with the help of Lee Spratt, chief executive officer for the Americas with DHL eCommerce Solutions. He discuses the need for a multi-carrier strategy, the prospect of continued capacity constraints, concerns over cybersecurity and data privacy, and the “reinvention” of brick-and-mortar retailers. Hosted by Bob Bowman, Editor-in-Chief of SupplyChainBrain.
