CPSI selects PointClickCare to support AHT customers with access to a best-in-class suite of products and solutions, and the most expansive care collaboration network

TORONTO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–PointClickCare Technologies, a leading healthcare technology platform enabling meaningful collaboration and access to real‐time insights at every stage of the patient healthcare journey, today announced the acquisition of American HealthTech, Inc. (AHT), a subsidiary of Computer Programs and Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: CPSI) and a leading provider of electronic health record (EHR) solutions and related services for the post-acute care market. CPSI, a community healthcare solutions company, announced the divestment of AHT and selected PointClickCare to continue supporting AHT customers into the future.

“As part of our ongoing business transformation, we have decided to divest AHT and therefore discontinue development of the AHT product,” said Chris Fowler, president and CEO, CPSI. “We selected PointClickCare as the technology partner of choice to take care of AHT’s customers and ensure they are set up for success now and into the future. PointClickCare and AHT share similar cultures and values, making this an ideal fit for AHT, its clients, and employees.”

Since its inception, PointClickCare has invested in innovation across the care continuum to help care providers maximize the potential of technology to close gaps in care, create more efficiencies, and improve the healthcare delivery experience. AHT’s post-acute customer base will now have access to the industry’s most-expansive dataset and the opportunity to join PointClickCare’s vision of transforming the senior care ecosystem through the creation of a connected care network during a critical period of digital transformation for the industry.

“Our priority is ensuring AHT customers are equipped with the best-in-class solutions, and we believe the combination of AHT’s legacy of focusing on providers with PointClickCare’s industry leading products gives providers an exceptional path forward,” said Claire Stephens, senior vice president, post-acute care, American HealthTech. “We are confident that PointClickCare is the right choice and trusted partner to guide AHT customers into the future, empowering them to deliver the highest quality of care.”

PointClickCare’s integrated platform delivers real-time, actionable insights at the point of care to facilitate seamless transitions and better post-discharge outcomes while providing visibility into post-acute network performance. With PointClickCare, AHT customers’ care teams will gain access to the data they need, at the point of care, for proactive care collaboration and intervention for their patients, helping them thrive in an evolving market as the needs of their patients become more complex.

“Our transition to PointClickCare was a successful one and a very positive experience for our team,” said John Pulliam, executive director, Fountainview Center for Alzheimer’s Disease. “We are excited to have such a proven partner on our side so we can continue providing the care our residents have come to expect from us, while also preparing for the future with a more integrated, cloud-based solution. I believe transitioning to PointClickCare has also brought about a sense of unity with our staff, and seeing our clinical team working together to help one another as they learn has been inspiring.”

“PointClickCare’s mission has always been, and continues to be, addressing critical gaps in healthcare to better serve high-needs populations through a robust care collaboration network,” said Dave Wessinger, CEO and co-founder, PointClickCare. “We are excited to welcome this group of experienced team members who share similar cultures and values, and their respected AHT customers, to the PointClickCare community and continue fulfilling our mission of modernizing healthcare.”
