The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey is celebrating a record-breaking first quarter of 2024 with 32.4 million passengers travelling through their commercial airports.

This surpasses the previous record set in 2023, which was already the busiest year ever for Port Authority airports.

The strong performance extends beyond air travel. The Port Authority also saw a 12% increase in cargo handling (TEUs) compared to Q1 2023, and a 12% rise in ridership on their PATH commuter rail system compared to the same period last year. Traffic at their bridges and tunnels also remained steady at pre-pandemic levels.
