POWERHOME SOLAR Donates $10,000 to Two Women’s Charities

POWERHOME SOLAR and CEO Jayson Waller joined forces with hundreds of women to gather for a virtual day of inspiration and empowerment for women. The Sisterhood for Success hosted the “Ordinary Women Doing Extraordinary Things” series where woman entrepreneurs from all over the nation gathered virtually to share stories about success, including life, loss, balance and business.

Waller was the headline keynote and talked to the group about why supporting women-owned business is so vital.

“This is such an important time to pay it forward and empower women with the tools to succeed,” Waller said. “We are proud that nearly half of our leadership team of directors at POWERHOME SOLAR are women. When we learned of this event, we were anxious to participate and make donations to organizations doing essential work for women.”

Waller and POWERHOME SOLAR made a total donation of $10,000 to two women’s charities, to help them continue their work throughout their communities.

Michigan Women Forward (MWF) received $5,000 to support their mission of empowering women and girls to be leaders, inventors, dreamers and doers. Part of what its organization does is provide micro-loans to women throughout Michigan to help them start businesses. MWF has locations in Detroit, Lansing and Grand Rapids.

The Safe Alliance received the other $5,000 donation from POWERHOME SOLAR. Safe Alliance is based in Charlotte, North Carolina, and provides hope and healing to those impacted by domestic violence and sexual assault. The organization has seen a surge in domestic abuse during the pandemic, so this donation comes at a valuable time.

“Between job losses and personal losses, it’s been a challenging time for so many women,” said Joy McAdams, founding member of The Sisterhood for Success. “We are thrilled our event was able to bring together so many women to support one another, and we are so grateful that POWERHOME SOLAR was able to participate and make such generous donations to two worthy women’s organizations.”

A big part of POWERHOME SOLAR’s mission is making a difference in the communities it serves across the country. The company’s culture at its core is one of giving back and paying it forward. Women have a special place at POWERHOME SOLAR, as seven of the company’s 15 directors are women, and many more are managers that help drive the business forward. Supporting women is also very personal for Waller, because he and his wife have three daughters – ages 22, 17 and 14, along with a 10-year-old son.

As part of the virtual program, Waller shared his story of resilience and transformation and how he has his company on a path to becoming a billion-dollar business after very humble beginnings. Those humble beginnings drove him to want more out of life and has POWERHOME SOLAR on a fast track of massive growth and expansion. His hope is to instill in others that your past doesn’t have to dictate your future.

The Ordinary Women Doing Extraordinary Things event also featured five women speakers – authors and influencers, including Heather Monahan, Leslie Streeter, Laurie Sallarulo, Margaret Rutherford and Fabi Powell. They each spoke about ways women can empower themselves to make a bigger difference in their own lives and that of others.

Since opening its doors in 2014, POWERHOME SOLAR has donated to dozens of other causes, including those impacting families, children, members of the military and even globally.
