Jingdong Gaming as the second seed managed to qualify for Worlds without having to go through the regional play-off by securing the best finish over the spring and summer split. A small consolation after losing to Top Esports in the Summer Final. After a poor start to the summer split they made some small organisational changes and then went on a tear during the middle section of the season. Though this form did curtail towards the end of the season they had done enough to qualify.
Their roster has been pretty settled for a while now and all players are comfortable playing with each other, their main worry going into this world championship will be mentality with very little experience on the world stage in any position. If they the end of season is anything to go by they may not have the required steel to up their game when it counts.
Suggested Betting: JD Gaming not to get out of group stages. I have a feeling these could be the biggest casualty of the group stages as their inexperience comes back to haunt them.
Suning
Suning have been around in the LPL for a long time but have always been a bottom to mid-tier team. That all changed this year when they put together an impressive run to qualify as Chinas third seed. This unexpected result can probably be traced to their Jungler SofM, the Vietnamese prodigy who has had to wait his turn in the limelight due to age restrictions for competitive play.
Once SofM joined the main roster things began to look up for Suning and after acclimatising to his new team during the spring split he carried the team to glory during the summer split. With a particularly impressive showing in the regional finals against LGD to decide who gets 3rd seed for China.
