Primark, a subsidiary of American British Foods plc., announced plans to open 24 stores in the U.S., bringing the company’s global total to 436 by the end of 2023. Primark will have opened eight stores in the U.S. by the end of the year.

According to Forbes, the last two Primark stores will be opened in Lake Grove, New York on November 9 and in Charlotte, North Carolina on November 16, making it North Carolina’s first Primark store.

The company is looking to open 60 stores in the U.S. by 2026.

Kevin Tulip, the president of Primark U.S., said the plan for the organization was to never open as many stores as quickly as possible. Instead, the business wants to open a select number of stores in the right locations.

“We learned a lot in those early years about what sparks Primaria for the U.S. shoppers, and we are finding that our value pricing across women’s, men’s, kids, baby, home and gifts have kept American families coming back to us time and time again,” Tulip said.

Primark is an Irish company that was founded by Arthur Ryan as Penneys in 1969. After the company expanded to Europe, it successfully opened its first location in the U.S. in 2015. Today, the brand employs over 72,000 people in 17 different countries.
