The vast majority (89%) of supply chain executives responding to a recent survey cite digital transformation of their supply chain and logistics operations as a priority for 2024, and three-quarters believe that real-time visibility is key to achieving it. Further, 77% of respondents to the survey by Tive, which offers a supply chain shipment visibility technology platform, believe that real-time visibility is a “must-have.”

Sustainability was cited as a major consideration for real-time visibility by around 36% of respondents, and supporting corporate sustainability was noted as a primary benefit of real-time visibility by around 34% of respondents, Tive said.

“In today’s ever-changing environment, real-time data isn’t just a convenience; it’s a strategic imperative for preempting and mitigating disruptions effectively as well as supporting our customers’ sustainability efforts,” said Krenar Komoni, Tive CEO & founder.

The report concludes that companies are increasingly investing in advanced technologies such as IoT devices and AI to improve their visibility capabilities. These investments, says Tive, reflect a strategic shift towards leveraging digital tools to enhance supply chain resilience and competitiveness.

“The State of Visibility 2024” survey, designed and executed by Charlie Pesti and Shipping & Freight Resource in partnership with Tive, polled 244 U.S.-based executives and analysts from a variety of industries, including food, pharmaceutical, chemicals, logistics services, automotive, and healthcare.
