Making your way to the Garden towards House Beneviento for the first time, Ethan will begin to see visions as you progress.

You’ll end up in a large gravesite with a large headstone for a member of the Beneviento family, but part of the slab with their name is missing. You won’t be able to access it until after you have defeated Donna and Angie and returned to The Village.

How to Solve the Beneviento Treasure Puzzle

For this optional treasure, you’re going to want to make sure you have a lot of ammo, especially explosive types, and a few First Aid Med, as the treasure won’t be given up without a fight.

Head to the Village’s graveyard above the Maiden of War statue, and you’ll find along with some new ghouls, a small mausoleum has opened, allowing you to pick up a Broken Slab. This is the same slab that was missing from the large Beneviento tombstone past the garden.

When you reach the large tombstone, be ready. A giant wielding an even more giant axe will crash into the area signaling a miniboss fight. This large hulking enemy can deal a ton of damage with just a single swing, so you’ll want to be ready to dodge at a moment’s notice.

Beyond his slow and powerful overhead swings, this giant can and will leap across the entire arena if you put too much distance between you.

If the giant moves his weapon back into a stance, you’ll need to be careful. It will either be a low stance with his weapon behind him, or holding his axe high. Either method will have the giant slowly advance upon you, and if it closes the distance, the giant will unleash a large sweeping strike that will deal major damage.

If that wasn’t bad enough, the giant will also summon a few Moroaicas from time to time to help him during the fight. Depending on your ammo count, you may want to consider dodging around them as they move fairly slowly – but it’s better to employ explosives to damage all of them when they move close together, so the Moroaicas can go down while you damage the giant. Luckily, the Moroaicas tend to drop lots of crafting resources, allowing you to stay in the fight longer by making more healing items or ammo.

Try to aim for the head after the giant swings or jumps and stays vulnerable for a bit, but always be ready to sprint away at a moment’s notice. It will take a lot of firepower to bring it down, so if you’re having trouble, you may want to come back later.

Should you defeat the giant, you’ll gain a Giant Crystal Axe that sells for a 30,000 Lei, and if that wasn’t enough, you can now put the Broken Slab at the foot of the tombstone, and it will reveal Berengario’s Chalice which also sells for 18,000 Lei!
