The two-time champions are back with a brand new look. The San Francisco Shock announced earlier this month that they would be playing in a preseason show match against the Dallas Fuel. The “Runback Series” featured both teams battling it out in various different game modes. The Shock even unveiled their latest roster for the 2023 season. To kick off the match, the Shock welcomed in Hee-sang “Heesang” Chae, Su-min “MAX” Choi, an Jun-woo “Vindaim” Park to play alongside Se-jin “Finn” Oh and Dong-hyun “Proper” Kim.

Fans around the league could take quite an accurate guess about what the Shock had planned for this offseason. During the season, the San Francisco Shock made and agreement the Contenders Team O2 Blast, making them San Fran’s official academy team. After unloading several strong players at the start of the offseason, many figured that the Shock would call up the top performers from O2.

O2 Blast has been one of the strongest teams in Korean Contenders the past two seasons. Consistent first place finishes has cemented this team as one of the top teams to ever do it in Contenders. The Shock made a smart move investing in a team of this caliber.

The Shock have announced just five members of their 2023 roster, meaning they need to sign one more player to have a valid roster for the season. The smart bet would be one more player from O2 Blast would join to complete the group, however this offseason has already been quite the rollercoaster and the unexpected could happen.
