The directors of six National Science Challenges are joining calls to the government to develop a national food strategy for New Zealand – one that will help reduce emissions as well as increase resilience to the climate crisis.
Last month, a report by a panel of more than 60 independent and government experts found that, without the transformation of the country’s food systems, the government won’t fulfil its Paris Agreement obligations on climate change, or towards the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
