Sold for US$2.5 million in a private sale last Friday was a Champagne bearing five non-fungible tokens (NFTs) on the surface of its bottle. The five NFTs consist of well-known collections Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) spinoff Mutant Ape Yacht Club (MAYC) and a Sneaky Vampire.

According to the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) report on Tuesday, the new owners of the world’s most expensive Champagne are brothers Giovanni and Piero Buono.

In addition to the Champagne bottle, it comes with complimentary transfers of the NFTs as well. Those NFTs transfers are stamped on the bottle.

“I don’t plan to drink it. I think it will be a good investment,” one of the brothers said.

The brothers commented that the record-breaking booze and NFT investment is a safe store of value.

The bottle is currently priced 2,500 ETH at NFT marketplace OpenSea. The transaction was carried out in U.S. dollars, according to the WSJ due to the recent volatilities observed in the cryptocurrency market, the

The NFT bottle called as the Magnum 2.5, was minted by wine distributor Champagne Avenue Foch and designed by the creator of the Sneaky Vampire Syndicate NFT collection, who is also BAYC artist Mig.
