Source Node: 1128789

Now that the whole concept of the Metaverse is beginning to gain a lot more attention and notoriety from the general public, there are a plethora of new questions beginning to arise about how NFTs in the Metaverse are going to have an effect on popular culture.

In particular, one thing that seems to be floating around in the minds of many is how the public will interact with celebrities in the Metaverse, and whether or not the Metaverse may give a lucky few people an amazing opportunity to get closer to their favourite celebrities.

This answer to this question is multi-faceted and isn’t so clear-cut. However, we will be trying our best to give you the clearest explanation possible.

In this article, we will be talking about whether or not NFTs in the Metaverse will be able to bring the public and celebrities closer together, as well as pointing out a few of the ways this will affect the Metaverse if this does happen to be the case.

Everyone Wants To Meet Their Favorite Celebrity

In order to be able to take a look at whether or not the Metaverse will be able to bridge the gap between the public and celebrities, let’s first take a look at what the metaverse is.

The Metaverse is a concept that is closely linked with virtual reality, being that the metaverse aims at creating a virtual world where people can work, relax, play games, and much more.

Essentially, the metaverse is what you would imagine if you were to conjure up thoughts of a world where virtual reality takes precedence over reality, and this is a concept that has been explored in a plethora of movies so you may be somewhat accustomed to it.

Keeping this in mind, this could potentially mean that people could meet their celebrities in the virtual world, and this is exactly why some people speculate that it may be able to bring the general public and celebrities closer together.

Moreover, the demand for this kind of thing is certainly there. Everyone wants to meet their favourite celebrity, and in a world where celebrities are seen as almost perfect figures, the vast majority of people would jump at the chance to be more involved.

So, if the demand is there, then that is already one huge obstacle out of the way, and it is highly likely that both the people who run the Metaverse, as well as the celebrities themselves, would be more than willing to facilitate said demand.

A Lucrative Opportunity

Due to the high demand which we discussed in-depth in the previous section, this provides a lucrative opportunity to any celebrities that are open to cashing in on their notoriety.

It makes perfect sense for celebrities who are looking to make an easy buck to provide people with some sort of option to meet them in the Metaverse for a reasonable price, and if this was to happen, it is more than likely that millions of people would jump at this opportunity.

Who knows, perhaps in the future people will be looking to acquire ethereum not because it is going to give them a lucrative asset, but so they can get to meet their celebrity of choice for ten minutes in the Metaverse.

If this imaginary situation was to actually come to fruition, this would be something that would benefit all parties involved, and there would be practically zero downsides. Everyone wins.

The Idea Is Better Than the Reality

Even though the idea of meeting your favourite celebrity in the metaverse might sound good on paper, it may not turn out to be the amazing opportunity that you first assumed.

For one, if a celebrity is offering to meet fans for a relatively reasonable price, this would drastically reduce the demand that is out there to meet said celebrity. If everyone is able to do something, it makes the ordeal much less special.

Alternatively, if a celebrity were to charge an extremely high price in order to meet up in the Metaverse to try and dodge the aforementioned issue, not only would very few people be able to participate, but it would also give them a somewhat negative public image.

It would be hard to get this system to work just right, and many people are likely to be disappointed for one reason or another if this were to take place.

That’s not to say that it won’t, but it is just an important point to take into consideration.

To some, the whole idea of Meta and the Metaverse is too overwhelming to comprehend.

In reality, this kind of technology is something that has only been known to us for the past few years, and to expect everyone to have a concrete grasp on these intangible concepts would be lunacy.

No one really knows exactly what is going to happen once The Metaverse begins to play a large role in society, and while it may be an exciting thought, we still do not yet know the ins and outs of every detail.
