The advantage of NFT Games over traditional video games is that unlike the video games of yesterday that take money in but don’t have mechanisms for “money out” systems for players, NFT games do just that.

They allow users to at least return a portion of what they have invested in the game. These views were shared by Polygon’s Urvit Goel.

The Advantage Of NFT Games Over Traditional Games

As gaming producers start to make more of their products available for play on blockchain, NFT gaming business models may prove to be an appealing innovation.

Vice President of worldwide business development for gaming at Polygon, Urvit Goel, thinks nonfungible token (NFT)-integrated games have an inherent advantage over conventional games that forbid players from selling their in-game goods.

Last week, Goel gave a speech in Seoul on Polygon’s efforts to promote NFT games and the reasons that gaming companies like Neowiz and Nexon are forging ahead with this endeavor in South Korea.

In conventional video games, players frequently spend real money on in-game purchases, but they are unable to resell such purchases for money in the US.

However, users may purchase products as nonfungible tokens and then sell them once they have finished playing most games in the gaming finance (GameFi) area. Goel described the conventional business model as “money in, no money out,” emphasizing that players have to be able to recover at least part of the money they invested in a game.

Goel claimed to have been witness to unmistakable signs that current game publishers are getting ready to make major forays into GameFi, beginning with South Korea’s Nexon. According to mmorpg, a gaming news media organization, it declared in June that it will release MapleStory N, a version of its main game.

Goel’s ideas on blockchain and gaming are consistent with those of Anthony Yoon of ROK Capital, who claimed that GameFi and cryptocurrency are a “natural fit” for publishers.

Goel’s optimism about the promising future of NFT gaming and GameFi is influenced in part by the excitement among the communities. Although he said he lacked concrete evidence to back up his assertion, he is of the belief that many members of sizable communities with “millions of followers” are enthusiastic about the new gaming goods being introduced to their channels.
