The BLOKC, a platform focused on blockchain education, is teaming up with the non-profit Solana Foundation to address the talent deficit in the Philippines’ blockchain industry by conducting a series of bootcamps.

Emerson Fonseca, the founder of The BLOKC, stated that the collaboration for the bootcamp aims to leverage Solana’s potential to provide opportunities for skilled developers in the Philippines. Interested participants can register here.

“We see an exciting opportunity in the country due to its abundance of talented developers and the increasing interest in blockchain technology. Solana’s fast and scalable transactions, along with its developer-friendly ecosystem, perfectly align with our vision to empower and educate individuals about the transformative power of blockchain,” Fonseca said.

Collaboration With Solana

The BLOKC noted that despite the Solana blockchain continuing to gain popularity for its scalability and speed, the shortage of skilled developers has emerged as a blocker for its growth.

By teaming up with the Solana Foundation, The BLOKC said it hopes to bridge the knowledge gap and help facilitate the blockchain sector’s advancement in the Philippines.

“The BLOKC and Solana Foundation share a deep commitment to building a strong developer community and fostering the growth of aspiring technopreneurs and new founders within the Solana Blockchain,” the educational platform wrote.

Solana Developer Bootcamps

Limited spots are available for the Solana Developers’ Bootcamp. The program starts on July 8, 2023, and registration requires the applicant to provide their programming/development background for qualification.

This bootcamp includes a series of 10 intensive 2-week training sessions that focus on practical application and hands-on coaching by experienced Solana developers and trainers, the company said.

The BLOKC views the bootcamp as an opportunity for participants to demonstrate their skills with the Solana blockchain and compete for appealing prizes.

The UNBLOKC Hackathon 2023

Aside from the bootcamp, The BLOKC is also organizing the UNBLOKC Hackathon 2023, happening on July 29 to 30. The event is bringing ogether a total of 14 university teams– a team of professional developers, and a mixed team comprising both students and professionals.

The hackathon will offer mentorship, collaboration opportunities, and a platform to showcase their entrepreneurial and technological skills.
