The Pros and Cons of Mega Roulette

Source Node: 769420

Every casino, both online and offline, are ultimately out there to make money. And while there are some casino games like poker that you can beat frequently enough to turn a profit, others are more difficult to win. Roulette in particular is infamously difficult to win. Whether or not ‘winnable’ in the long run, roulette can be extremely fun to play at times. And mega roulette is probably one of the best ways to try it out online. It still has some negative points, but it is also likely the most user-friendly roulette experience you can have. So in this article, we take an objective look at what mega roulette is all about, and try to sort out its pros and cons.

But First: What is Mega Roulette?

There are a number of types of roulette out there – American, French, mini-roulette, and so on. They all have minor differences in rules and gameplay here and there. But the most important thing you should know is the difference between American and European roulette, which we will discuss in detail later. For now, all you should know is that Mega Roulette uses European as the base. It is an online game of live dealer roulette from Pragmatic Play.

Pros of Mega Roulette

Like we said before, mega roulette is based on European Roulette. This automatically makes it more fruitful than the majority of online roulette tables. Generally speaking, roulette has a high house edge. In case you didn’t know, house edge is the average percentage of games that the house (casino) wins minus the percentage of times they lose (i.e. the player wins). For roulette, this house edge is as high as 5.26%. That might seem like a small number, but it means that you will definitely lose money in the long run. But this is the case for American roulette. In European roulette, there is one big difference.

They only have one ‘green slot’, i.e. only 0 instead of a 0 and a 00. This is such a massive change that on its own it knocks the house edge down to 2.7%. So what does that mean for you? In simple terms, mega roulette uses the most profitable form of roulette, relatively speaking.

The biggest attraction of mega roulette, however, is multiplier. After all, there is nothing ‘mega’ about just vanilla European roulette. To spice up the ante, the game uses random multipliers to rewards. Every time the wheel spins, up to five numbers might get a bonus multiplier. That means if you somehow manage to land on that number, it will give you that much more payout. The payout is a minimum of x5, which as you may have figured, is a big deal. The maximum payout can even go up to x500 = which is nothing short of hitting the lotto. So that only gives you more incentive to try your luck.

Another big plus for it is the fact that it is a live dealer game. If you have played in actual casinos, you might remember the crowd around the roulette. That often clogs the opportunity to bet, and it also gets difficult to see the action. Live dealer roulette is probably the best of both worlds in these regards. There is a live dealer, and the roulette wheel is a digital auto-wheel. On top of ensuring the purest roulette experience, it is also easy to get into. In truth, you don’t really have to do anything other than place your bets at the start of the round. The rest is as simple as a basic roulette wheel that spins on its own.

Cons of Mega Roulette

Of course, it can’t be all good. You have to remember that this is roulette in the end. If you expect to walk away with potential short term profits, sore disappointment may be waiting for you. It uses European roulette with a comparatively lower house edge, but that still isn’t 100% RTP.

Now, you might point at the wager multipliers that mega roulette is famous for. First off, the actual base payouts are lowered to compensate for it. Instead of a 35 to 1, you get a 28 to 1 reward for winning a round without multipliers. There are unique bets like mega dozens and columns, but they are rarely ever won. Moreover, multipliers and their extent are completely dependent on chance, and they might not even appear in a round.

Despite these issues, though, mega roulette is still one of the most fun and chill live dealer casino experiences out there. If not for landing the dream x500 multiplier win, one should at least check it out just for the experience.
