“I have been discharged from the military as of April 24th and am currently looking for a team to join.
I announced my retirement and joined the military, and now I plan to make a return to the scene after a hard decision. I will give my best to make great come back”

The future looking better for Protoss (assume SC2 lives), only if Zest can also come back.

Cool, lovely decision from both Trap and Rogue. Hoping Zest to make comeback too. I guess Saudi’s massive sponsor on several high-tier Sc2 tournaments causes those who commits on retirement before, decides to return playing competitively (Of course this doesn’t motivate Innovation so much lol).

Note: Now, I am thinking about sOs. Did he retire for good or just playing casually?

Rogue & Maru fan boy. ^^

We’re getting back a nice slew of Korean talent that’s been missing for the last couple of years. We know Dark is leaving soon too, and Maru is going to have to be due up eventually. So who knows when the next big wave of Korean talent will leave to do their service.

Glad Trap is back. Now it’s just Zest that’s left for the Protoss elite to return.

Well that’s unexpected good news! One of the few players I ever remember saying they absolutely weren’t coming back

Yay! Trap is super underrated, I feel like if he had peaked a few years sooner or a few years later he’d be a multiple GSL champion, bad luck to be so good during one of the worst stretches for Protoss.

I wonder if there’s some insider knowledge about the future of the scene among Koreans, or if they’re just hoping the Saudi money hose continues.

Trap was really good but he never reached that Stats / Rain level, we need a a Prime Stats back or someone like Rain if we want Protoss domination combined with some buffs 😀

Cool! I’m happy that he’s coming back to the game, I thought he had ruled it out.

Glad to have Trap back and hope he can come in good shape. Sadly his timing is kind of bad with GSL qualifiers already over for both pre-EWC tourneys. Feels like Open Qualifiers for Dallas are his last EWC chance and that seems like a stretch so soon after his return :/

erm, isnt this next season of GSL the least represented in terms of protoss… ever? i dont deny trap coming back helps toss but… the future still looks grim for the race. maxpax only playing online doesnt help. and to get trap we also got rogue so yeah idk, im not buying it.

The problem with Protoss at the moment is Serral and Maru, or Clem assuming he hasnt been knocked out by other Terrans. So having Trap back kinda help because he has consistently beaten Maru, and also giving Serral a good fight several times. And I think the current PvT/PvZ meta suit Trap pretty well if he can got back in shape. I agree the timing isnt great for him though, his best chance would be to fight through the KR Open Qualifier for EWC but even that would be a long shot.

So both Trap and Rogue went to the military October 2022 and just came back. Zest went June 2022 and still hasn’t been back yet. Maybe Zest is the one who’s truly retired not Trap?

very illegal and very uncool

The Rogue felt into a Trap and now he gets some Zest…you see, doesn’t make much sense. We need some Innovation for this to work…or a Fruitdealer, idk

Am I wrong that they changed it from 2 yrs to 1.5 yrs after Zest went in but before the others?

I don’t think so. Zest has committed to return playing after completing military service. He has stated before. Maybe different military regiment training give somewhat a longer duration course?

RIP that’d suck for Zest lol, but at least it’s just a few months, not much longer…
