In just five months after Elon Musk closed the $44 billion acquisition of Twitter, the popular social media platform reached a new milestone of over 500 million total active users. The news came just a week after Musk announced Twitter “exceeded 8 billion user-minutes per day.”

During the same five-month period, Twitter also became the most downloaded and #1 news app. In addition, Twitter also released new features in the shortest time period in Twitter’s history, even after the company had laid off 75% of its employees.

That’s not all. Twitter also improved its ad relevance, removed child porn, reduced child sexual exploitation, reduced bots, scams, and hate speech, improved engagements for advertisers, removed censorship, and also exposed the truth via Twitter files.

After Musk took Twitter’s helm, he immediately restored free speech and restored previously de-platformed public figures including former President Trump. Musk also Community Notes to debunk propaganda and misleading tweets. About two months ago, Musk also
the $8/month Twitter Blue subscription service. He also introduced verified badges for company accounts.

He didn’t end there, he also announced that Twitter will open-source its source code as early as next week. Musk also announced that creator monetization and Twitter payments are in the making.

On April 25, Twitter was sold to Elon Musk for $44 billion. Once completed, the world’s richest person will own arguably the most influential social platform in the world. Immediately after the deal, Musk tweeted:
