U.Today – Binance, recognized as the preeminent cryptocurrency exchange globally in terms of trade volume, has disseminated a critical advisory directed at futures market investors.

The exchange has addressed instances where certain futures participants were receiving outdated alerts relating to prior trading activities. Binance has clarified that these antiquated notifications do not affect any current trading positions and extends an apology for any distress caused.

The Binance Futures platform facilitates the trading of both quarterly and perpetual futures agreements. The former, known as quarterly futures contracts, mature after a three-month period.

As announced in September, Binance Futures introduced a new assortment of quarterly futures for digital assets such as BTC, ETH, BNB, ADA, LINK, BCH, , DOT, and LTC.

Adding to its product range, Binance Futures has planned the introduction of a new perpetual contract margined in USDC for DOGE on the specified date of Jan. 18, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. UTC.

Perpetual contracts are types of futures agreements without a predetermined termination date, which empower participants to hypothesize on the price movements of the underpinning asset without the obligation of actual commodity delivery necessary in traditional futures contracts. Notably, perpetual contracts also allow for enhanced leverage when compared to their traditional counterparts.

Apart from their indefinite lifespan, perpetual contracts simplify the process for traders aiming to short or hold pessimistic positions on cryptocurrencies relative to direct market transactions.

On the 4th of January, Binance formally inaugurated the trade of perpetual contracts margined in USDC on its trading platform, an initiative to refine the trading experiences of its clientele and diversify the available trading instruments on Binance Futures beyond just those margined in USDT.

Initially featuring a curated collection of cryptocurrencies including , , BNB, SOL, and XRP, the suite of USDC-margined perpetual contracts is set to encompass as of Jan. 18.
