UFC 300 Main Event Announced

UFC fans around the world have been patiently & eagerly awaiting the announcement of the UFC 300 main event. One of the most stacked cards of all-time, containing UFC stars such as Justin Gaethje and Max “Blessed” Holloway. In the co-main event, the women’s UFC Strawweight champion, Zhang Weili is scheduled to take on Yan Xiaonan. No one had a clue who would end up headlining the historic landmark for the promotion. UFC President and CEO, Dana White made the news official, following Ilia Topuria’s knockout victory at UFC 298. A video post, letting fans know what would be at stake for the UFC 300 main event in April.

Who Will be Headlining UFC 300?

Dana White made it official through his social media handles, that the light heavyweight title will be on the line in the UFC 300 main event. Newly crowned champion of the division, Alex “Poatan” Pereira welcomes former light heavyweight champion, Jamahal “Sweet dreams” Hill. Hill’s first opportunity at UFC gold came in January of 2023. Shortly after another former champion, Jirí Procházka was forced to vacate the title in November of 2022, due to a gruesome shoulder injury. Hill then took on Glover Teixeira for the vacant title, and became champion after defeating him by unanimous decision. Shortly after his title victory over the legend Teixeira, Hill then suffered an injury and felt it was ethically right to vacate the title. This is when Alex Pereira received his shot, and took advantage of it. He’s now the light heavyweight champion of the world, and will headline the promotion’s largest event of 2024.
