Take a look as we break down Valorant’s newest agent Clove’s gameplay trailer

Valorant fans around the world will be very excited to see that Riot Games have just dropped the official gameplay trailer for the newest addition to the game’s roster – Clove. Coming to Episode 8 Act III, this Scottish descended lady adorned in a pink jacket is sure to capture the hearts of many people, both with her colorful abilities and personality.

People have already figured out most of their abilities thanks to the leaks circulating around the internet for a while, but of course, they must always be taken with a hint of doubt until the official trailer by the devs are released, which they have just done.

So let’s take a look at the trailer and have a look at what Clove will be offering on the battlefield.

Abilities

As we’ve known before, Clove is going to be a controller agent, meaning they’ll be slicing and dicing the enemy territory with their smokes to provide cover and make it safer for you to enter the sites.

The first ability that’s shown being put to use is a small orb similar to the ones that Fade uses and you’ll be able to throw it out like a blind, except it seems to have a rather big radius where everyone caught inside it will be disoriented, and if the leaks are to be trusted, the disorientation will include fake gunshots and footsteps to accentuate the confusion.

Another one of her abilities show Clove radiating a bright pink glow, where we see them taking virtually no damage (or maybe reduced damage) while they are in this state. This could potentially be a big game changer and will definitely bring about a lot of clutches in both the competitive and casual aspects of the game.

Lastly, we have their smokes, which we can see that they’re able to use much like Brimstone’s abilities as they open up a small minimap where you can pick and choose where you’ll be able to put the smoke before pressing another button to confirm the smoke’s placements.

We don’t know if the smokes have other passive effects like Astra’s smokes being bulletproof or Harbor’s ones slowing you down, but they’re very pretty to look at and that’s good enough for us.

Ultimate

Although not confirmed, this is most likely going to be their ultimate as we see Clove dying but presumably rising back up again, followed by an ethereal looking figure adorned by butterflies. It looks like you’ll be invincible for a few seconds as it’ll give you time to get yourself into a safe spot.

This will inevitably change the meta as it’s basically a mix of Phoenix’s ultimate and Sage’s revive, where you’ll be able to rez yourself instead and have full invincibility and movement for a few seconds.

We can’t wait to see the official patch notes that include Clove’s abilities being described in-depth and we’ll definitely be covering that as well once it comes out.

That’s all we have for the trailer breakdown, and if you would like to see more Valorant content on our site, then definitely keep your eye out as we cover everything in the VCT matches as they’re happening live.
