The Minnesota Vikings wasted no time in trying to find a replacement for the injured Kirk Cousins. Just ahead of the 4:00pm ET trade deadline on October 31, the Vikings have traded for former Arizona Cardinals quarterback Josh Dobbs.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported the news via Twitter on Halloween.

Dobbs got his first long-term shot at being a starter at the beginning of the 2023-2024 season, as he came in to replace the injured Kyler Murray for the Arizona Cardinals. This comes after bouncing around to six different teams on eight different stints since 2017.

This season, Dobbs has started in all eight games, completing 167 on 266 attempts for a completion percentage of almost 63 percent. He’s also thrown eight touchdowns to five interceptions and collected 1,569 yards.
