After all the double-crossing, back-stabbing, plot-twisting that goes on in the world of Like a Dragon, isn’t it any wonder that they fancy a vacation? And what better place than the sunny and relaxed vibes of Honolulu in Hawaii. Only joking, this is no time for a holiday! The location may change but the criminality is never far behind: Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth launches today on Xbox, PlayStation and PC.

Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth ventures outside of Japan for the first time in the series history. The next instalment in the 20+ year franchise has never been one to try new things in familiar setting, but now it is doing the very opposite. Trying familiar things in a very new setting.

Ichiban Kasuga and Kazuma Kiryu are reunited after a brief encounter in Yakuza: Like a Dragon. They both find themselves in Hawaii looking for the same person, Ichiban’s once thought to be dead mother. Can they find her before the various Hawaiian crime gangs do? Well, player, that will all be up to you.

Infinite Wealth continues the foundations set up in the last game, opting once again for turn-based battles. But really, this is all the tip of the iceberg. The term ‘Infinite Wealth’ applies quite literally to the amount of content in this game.

As well as all the standard Yakuza/Like a Dragon fare (fights, high drama, absurd comedy etc.) you can do so much more. Ride a trolley car taking photos of “sickos”, not just spot Sujimon, but now catch, train, raise and battle, cruise around on a segway, try a dating app and of course, Dondoko Island. Any other game would know when enough is enough but not Infinite Wealth; they’ve thrown in a whole island Animal Crossing style for you to build a luxury resort on. And it is entirely optional.
