On 17 September, a VivaAerobus Airbus A320 (registered XA-VAP) operated domestic flight VB5029 between Silao and Tijuana, Mexico. Shortly after take-off, the aircraft suffered an engine number 2 failure. The pilots entered a holding pattern and return to the airport of Silao about 25 minutes after take-off.
