A waterfront property has become the highest selling house in Wallaroo after smashing the popular Yorke Peninsula town’s record by $1m.

The two-storey home at 58 Pamir Court in the Wallaroo marina was snapped up at its midweek auction for a whopping $2.71m.

The sale eclipses the seaside town’s former record sale price for a single house, which property records show was set by the home at 12 Oriental Court when it sold for $1.71m in May.

Selling agent Andy White, of REAL Estate Agents Group, was blown away by the result, especially considering it sold $410,000 above its reserve price.

“I’m amazed, absolutely amazed with the result, it surpassed our expectations,” he said.

“We couldn’t have asked for a better situation.

“We had good interest throughout the campaign – a lot of people came through twice – and it came down to two bidders battling it out.

“The auction went for about 45 minutes.”

Mr White said the buyers were from Adelaide and planned to use the four-bedroom property as a holiday home.

“The people who bought it love their fishing,” he said.

“Some people who live at the end of the marina can take about 40 minutes to get to the mouth of the marina, here you’re basically right near the mouth of the marina.

“Its location was just premier, and now this sets the tone for others in and around that area.”

He said it was so popular among househunters, particularly farmers, throughout the campaign that they received multiple offers before auction.

The house, which was built by Walsted Quality Homes in 2020, is on a 1084sq m block and has its own pontoon.

The main living areas are downstairs, as well as a guest suite, while three bedrooms are upstairs.

An alfresco area downstairs and a balcony upstairs overlook the picturesque marina.

Latest PropTrack data shows Wallaroo’s median house price is $355,000 and has climbed 8.4 per cent over the past year.
