What should you be watching in the Dota 2 scene this week? PGL Wallachia Season 1 qualifiers will occur throughout the week for six (sorry no MENA) regions.
On the heels (quite literally nipping the heels) of DreamLeague Season 23 qualifiers, we’re moving on to the next qualifiers – for PGL Wallachia Season 1.
Earlier this month PGL announced their plans for a three-year Dota 2 Tournament Marathon with at least eight events boasting $1 Million prize pools between 2024 and 2026.
Ten teams have been directly invited. These teams will be joined by six more, determined through qualifiers.
This week the six regions (MENA is grouped with Western Europe as in the old days of DPC) will battle it out.
PGL Dota 2 Wallachia Season 1 is scheduled in Bucharest, Romania, from May 10th to 19th, 2024. The event has a prize pool of $1 million.

DOTA 2 Wallachia: Season #1 is divided into two main stages: the Group Stage and the Playoffs.
Group Stage Format
- 16-team Swiss format
- 10 invited teams directly seeded into the competition
- 6 teams from the qualifiers
- Top 8 teams will advance to the Playoffs
