Riot Games Southeast Asia have confirmed that this year they will officially kick off the Wild Rift League-Asia in April.

Since its inception, League of Legends: Wild Rift has been steadily growing, especially in regions such as Southeast Asia, China, and South Korea. With that in mind, Riot Games SEA has now confirmed the launch of the Wild Rift League-Asia, a two-season tournament – with the first season set to kick off in April 2023. With the two seasons set to progress over a total of eight months, WR fans will have their fill of esports action for most of the year.

While the WRL APAC Open Qualifier is already underway, which saw a massive array of teams from around SEA competing in the first phase of the event, the next phase of the event will see two teams from each region qualifying in the second stage of the WRL APAC Open Qualifier. From this, two teams from each of the regions, PH, VN, and SEA, will be lucky enough to reach the WRL A1 season. Teams that were unable to make it will have some hope, as a Last Chance Qualifier is also in place, where the winning team will also join in at the WRL A1 event.

Phase two of these qualifiers will take place from February 17 to 19, as the teams go in search of their spot in the WRL-A1 event – while the Last Chance Qualifier currently has no exact dates set. Once all qualifiers have come to an end, there will be a total of eight teams selected from WRL APAC, ready to show off their Wild Rift skills at the WRL-A1 event.

The Wild Rift League-Asia is set to begin on April 8, 2023, and will run through until July 23, 2023, as the teams will play through a gruelling event to prove that they are the best.
