YouTube’s Head of Gaming Is ‘Bullish on NFTs’
  • YouTube’s Head of Gaming says he is ‘bullish on NFTs’.
  • He says that NFTs and play-to-earn games are the future.
  • Razer’s specialist also agrees with this statement.

YouTube’s Head of Gaming — Ryan Wyatt, speaks of play-to-earn as a gaming model with much passion. In detail, he tweets saying that he is ‘bullish on NFTs’.

Clearly, Wyatt believes in the power of Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs). In this tweet, he says that the play-to-earn gaming model is one of the elements that will soon disrupt the gaming industry. In particular, he says this paired with an open market for in-game digital items along with in-game illiquid assets will truly be a game-changer.

Blockchain and NFT’s are already disrupting many industries in the current age. No doubt, gaming too will go through a similar disruption. In fact, it seems it already has begun. The massive surge from Axie Infinity and its token AXS should be a clear example of this inevitability.

Most analysts believe that so far we saw a massive boom with DeFi and its growth. More analysts believe that the next boom will come from blockchain gaming. There are many blockchain gaming projects that came out this year.

To name a few, Illuvium caused massive hype when the creators behind it were announced. Meanwhile, other platforms like The Sandbox and Decentraland too got a lot of attention for the space it is creating along with the users it is attracting.

On the other hand, some games have already seen surges and will most likely continue to see more. To specify, both Splinterlands and My Neighbor Alice saw massive growth in users as well as a surge in price for its native tokens and in-game assets.

After his declaration, Wyatt’s tweet got a lot of engagement where other believers soon joined the discussion. Wyatt makes it clear that this view is his alone. He says he believes NFTs’ will continue to rise in gaming based on Gen Z’s “expectation for change and the overall market”.

One of the replies to the tweet came from Razer’s Senior PR Specialist. The gaming specialist says that play-to-earn will expand as more projects arrive and continue to develop. To highlight, he mentions the following games — Illuvium, My DeFiPet, Mist, Dragonary, and Skyweaver.
