The Apple’s new 140W MacBook USB-C charger has more RAM than the Apollo 11 lunar lander guidance computer and a 10x higher clock speed than the original Macintosh. ChargerLAB on YouTube does a teardown:
This is the brand new MacBook Pro 16 inch 140W fast charger, which is designed based on GaN technology. There is also a customized USB-C to MagSafe 3 cable. You have to use this cable to achieve 140W charging.
Many people are curious about the internal design, architecture of the first PD 3.1 GaN fast charger, and what kind of brand new components are inside. Today, we will test and teardown this charger to answer those questions.
