Battle Giant Monsters In The VR RPG Behemoth

Shadow of the Collosus meets VR in this upcoming single-player adventure game.

This past October, Skydance Interactive gave us a little sneak peek of their newest game Behemoth, leaving us desperate for more information. After all, Skydance Interactive is the team that gave us The Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners, which has over 6000 positive reviews on Steam.

From what we can tell based on the new trailer, Behemoth is set in a world ravaged by a plague. During your travels, you’ll come face-to-face with these massive giants known as Behemoths. As if these towering monstroseties weren’t enough, you’ll also take on other nightmarish enemies roaming this haunting virtual world.

Thankfully, you’ll have various tools at your disposal that you can use to take down your enemies. That said, it won’t be easy. Before going after them, you’ll have to plan ahead and think about how to best approach each beast.

The trailer, which already has over 145K views on YouTube, looks absolutely stunning.

“From Archangel to The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners, we’ve learned a lot over the years about the unique challenges and strengths of VR,” said Todd Adamson, creative director at Skydance Interactive, in an official press release. “Behemoth is the culmination of a decade of work and is crafted for gamers that want a deep, all-encompassing experience that is specifically tailored to the medium. We hope that players are as excited as we are for the launch of Behemoth next year.”

Skydance Interactive once again takes VR immersion, action, and exploration to the next level in Behemoth with:

• Redefined, Brutally Tactile Combat – Players are required to think before attacking as human AI has been leveled up for melee combat. Weak points, armor, and technique all matter. Strength is key but conserving energy will need to be accounted for as everything has a price in this unforgiving world.
• A Refinement of VR Physics – Traverse the scaling landscape using your hands and/or the grappling hook or use it to rip apart the world around you. Grapple an enemy to gain the tactical advantage or use the surrounding landscape to stealthily eliminate foes.
• A Stark, New World – A completely new, unforgiving, yet surprisingly beautiful world to explore and survive in. Players will craft, fight, and endure throughout the world of Behemoth.
