Bell Textron Will Supply Helicopter for Air Ambulance to Kuwait

Bell Textron, an aerospace company will be supplying helicopter to Kuwait for Air Ambulance. According to an AirMed&Rescue report, Kuwait International Aircraft Leasing (KIAL) has signed a purchase agreement with aircraft manufacturer Bell Textron Inc. The aerospace company will supply KIAL with a Bell 429 GlobalRanger helicopter which is scheduled to be delivered by August 2022.

The helicopter will then be leased to the Kuwaiti Ministry of Health for the provision of Helicopter Emergency Medical Services (HEMS) and it will be the third of its type that will be operated by the ministry.

“We’re delighted to add to our fleet of 429s since we are very familiar with the aircraft’s excellent performance in our hot environment and its ability to quickly move patients from emergency scenes to our medical facilities,” said Capt. Jassem Buqamber, Kuwait’s Air Ambulance Commander.

The Bell 429 GlobalRanger is powered by two Pratt & Whitney Canada PW200 series engines. It has a speed of 155 knots (287km/hr) with a maximum range of 761.2 km. A maximum of seven passengers and one pilot can fit inside the helicopter. Its useful load is 1,150 kg in its base configuration. There is Garmin GTN-650/750 system inside the helicopter for navigation and communication.
