Bharath Kannan, CEO and Co-Founder of Atlantic Quantum, will Speak at IQT Nordics in June 2024 – Inside Quantum Technology

The IQT Nordics conference, set to be held in late June 2024, will feature Bharath Kannan, CEO and Co-Founder of Atlantic Quantum, a startup focused on developing scalable quantum computers. With his background in advanced quantum processor development and control, Kannan brings a wealth of knowledge and cutting-edge insights to the conference, especially in the realm of quantum computing architecture.

Significant academic achievements and groundbreaking research mark Kannan’s journey in the quantum field. He received his Ph.D. from MIT, where he was a National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate Fellow. During his PhD, his work primarily focused on developing new architectures for communicating between quantum processors and innovating novel gates for the fast control of low-frequency qubits. These areas of research are crucial for the advancement of quantum computing technology, particularly in addressing scalability and efficiency challenges.

Before his time at MIT, Kannan completed his B.S. in Physics at Rutgers University in 2016. He then earned his M.S. and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from MIT in 2018 and 2022, respectively. This strong foundation in both physics and electrical engineering has equipped him with a deep understanding of both the theoretical and practical aspects of quantum computing.

At Atlantic Quantum, Kannan applies this knowledge to the challenge of building scalable quantum computers. This endeavor is at the heart of the current evolution in quantum technology, as scalability is one of the key hurdles in bringing quantum computing into widespread practical use.

At the IQT Nordics conference, Kannan is expected to discuss the latest advancements and challenges in quantum computing, particularly focusing on scalable quantum computer architectures and inter-quantum processor communication, using his work at Atlantic Quantum as an example.
