IT may not be the prettiest property in Acton Park, but it is the most affordable and the most popular.

Area Specialist Real Estate property representative John Loveluck launched No.33 Shelomith Dr, Acton Park a few days ago and has been inundated with inquiries about this renovator’s delight.

“The level of interest has been overwhelming,” he said.

“I have never had a property be this busy, even when our market was booming.

“At the first open home on Tuesday morning, I had 37 groups come through the property — about 100 people and a dog, too.

“When I arrived, the street looked like there was a rock concert happening; there were so many people. It took about an hour to show everyone the property.”

At first, No.33 was priced around $475,000, but the 1.02ha property has since been adjusted to “Offers over $525,000”.

That is still about $550,000 less than the next most affordable home in this aspirational suburb.

“The adjustment was for transparency due to overwhelming interest and feedback on this property suggesting that it was at least in the $525,000-plus range,” Mr Loveluck said.

With about 8400 views and counting, the property was realestate.com.au’s No.1 most-viewed Tasmanian home of the past week.

Mr Loveluck said potential buyers were weighing their options. Some see demolition and a new build as the right move, while others say they would live in it while renovating, he said.

“A good number of builders and tradies have inquired about the property. And some first-home buyers,” he said.

“The house has been there for over 100 years, I believe.

“Everyone recognises that it is an uncommon opportunity.”

No.33 has a three-bedroom, one-bathroom layout. Each bedroom is a generous size.

Described as a “blank slate”, the floorplan has a family dining area that is open to the kitchen, while the living room is separate.

The basic bathroom has a tub and toilet.

Timber floors and charming fireplaces hint at what the property could become with a ton of TLC.

The interior walls are currently painted in a rainbow of different colours.

Outside, the property has two small sheds and a storage space.

With inordinate interest in the property, it is going to be sold in about a week of hitting the market.

No.33 Shelomith Dr, Acton Park is listed for sale with Area Specialist. Offers will be accepted until 5pm on Saturday, November 11.
