The match-ups for Code A Season 2 have been announced! The eight winners will move on to Code S, joining the four seeded players (top four from the previous Code S Season), and four players who advanced directly from the qualifiers.

Poor parting….
Really hate this new format
They need to seed players better. Forgg and Percival should not be playing each other while Parting vs zest is a thing…
First dark then zest..

This only happened because Zest lost to Keen.

For this, you need to blame zest for coming out from the loser’s bracket. ForGG did perform relative well though.

Ahhh gotcha. So there is some kind of seeding. Fair enough

A GSL format with groups is what I want to see for this “Code A” tournament.
That was the previous format for Ro24, they changed to code A probably to shorten the code S season so that they can add in another Super Tournament.

They’ve been cutting players the past few years because the Korean pro player base is eroding and they want the name Code S to represent at least some standard of quality.

But why Zest got Parting and Percival only got ForGG? They both got into code A through the last round of the qualifer. And Zest should have the “weaker” opponent.
Thats not true, Zest got through via loser bracket. ForGG got through via winner bracket and also won his seeding match.
The system is fair, Zest lost his shot.

I was comparing Zest case to Percival, not ForGG. There were 4 guys who got the last 4 slots from the qualifier, and how the seeding were decided among those 4?

The second day of qualifier qualifies 3 players for each group, 2 from winners bracket and one from loser’s bracket, then the two from winner’s bracket plays a seeding match.
ForGG and PartinG came out from winner’s bracket and won the seeding watch, therefore they are “tier 1” player, zest and percival came out of the loser’s bracket, becoming the “tier 2” player.
“Tier 1” players are matched with a “Tier 2” player at random. PartinG got unlucky to have zest and ForGG got lucky and got percival. Over.

So it was RANDOM, not seeding.I know about the Tier 1 and Tier 2 shit, but didnt know how they divide the players within each Tier further.
