German organisation cowana announced it was closing its doors on Tuesday, stating that the “effects of the international crises” made their business “no longer executable.”

The news comes not long after Thomas “Thomas” Utting terminated his contract with the organisation citing “unforeseen circumstances,” and Kevin “HS” Tarn left the team referencing “unpaid salaries causing stress.”

cowana entered CS:GO in March 2020 and hosted a range of German and European players in its time in the game, their peak ranking of No. 49 coming in August this year with a roster led by Kevin “kRYSTAL” Amend. This was the only cowana roster that managed to break into the top 50, with their squads generally operating on the fringes of tier-two.

The statement released by the organisation said that they “will make sure that any outstanding balances are paid by the end of the year,” as well as stating that all their current players “are free to move at any time without a transfer fee.”
